This section is of history. his-Story
The brain's memory is interesting. First time I remember trying to recreate art was with lined paper, a #2 pencil and a photo of a painting of a wolf from a magazine. I remember getting very frustrated with the pencil not making lines required to make my wolf look like the photo of the wolf. This is art. My mama is a hairstylist and I used to ask her to style her hair certain ways, this is art. I think making sure your socks are the same height, one to two inches under your calves. When you drive throughout rural Illinois, crops line every road, this is art. After not enjoying drawing wolves, every piece of paper notes were supposed to being kept on in grade school turned into lines upon lines upon lines which turned into mazes. 8X12 lined paper is delightful to draw straight lines with. Printing graphics on toilet paper is art. Onto said, "art career"; my mama, grandma, aunts and uncles rubbed off a lot on me. All the good is from them. A lot of the fly things I create have aspects of them in my art. Thus, I have loved glass forever. Early memories at christmas when aunts and uncles received beautiful glass bowls, vases, art, etc. I had to go to church as a little kid. The churches we went into were super old, weird, and all had incredible stained glass windows. My grandma had several glass tables in the nice part of her house, you had to slow down in whilst playing. Fast forward to highschool and college - I turned into a potter and got an art degree. I learned from a delightful Swedish woman how to do every part of art. She was lovingly tough on me, never gave me an A but also let me work whenever. After college - I moved to Nola for 4 years for a sales career and got into painting on canvas' with a big gay hair stylist. He was my neighbor and had an extra glass shelf at his spot, I didnt have a canvas, so I painted the glass. This is a weird beautiful accident. Then, I moved west for a new sales career for ~3 years and after, had an opportunity to sell fine art. I met 2 men, one super old masters' art dealer and the other a gallery owner. I learned invaluable information about the art world. This opportunity + realizing I have been doing art my entire life, directed me to create fine art to sell. From the glass shelf to then buying any glass from Habitat for Humanity, to then painting and breaking 100+ installations, my art career has been a situation upon situation, but I am happy with where it is at.
